The form on this one is inspired by a pendant I saw online some time ago, the image stayed with me. I had to make this to get it 'out of my head'.
The title is inspired by reflecting on how the pattern looks much like the path my life has taken. Paths are seldom direct and it is the twists and turns that provide both the pain and enjoyment to life.
The wood was what I thought was a nicely grained piece of Prima Vera - hated how it looked when it was sanded and ready to finish. I applied a honey oak stain to pop the grain. I am fairly pleased with how the color came out.
This one was drilled, turned, carved, finished and buffed through to carnauba wax. 10 '' in diameter
