Quilted Poplar Maple Leaf Bowl with Kingman Turquoise Inlay

This was my first time trying carving, which I'd wanted to explore for some time. I love gardening and have been trying to figure out how to bring some of that beauty into my work. I owe a huge thank-you to Ted Pelfrey, who walked me through the carving process step-by-step (with photos!). THANK YOU TED FOR ALL YOUR TIME AND ENCOURAGEMENT :-)
Thank you so much Scott! I spent a lotttt of time scrutinizing maple leaves to try and get the most realistic leaf I could, so I really appreciate your kind words. I definitely recommend Ted as a teacher - he has loads of experience and tons of helpful tips for getting going!
