Curly Maple w/ Lid - Pre Assembly

A shot of the pieces prior to final assembly last evening. This shows the thickness of the vase portion and my ultra high-tech rig. Don't be too jealous. Trying to finish off another piece prior to a show in Blowing Rock, NC on Saturday. Never enough time. I'll post more photos tomorrow night. Any and all comments always welcome.
those two holes on the left of the headstock, what do you use them for??

Scott, I am looking forward to seeing this piece finished. Is it red maple? Your lathe and surroundings looks like mine.

Great looking brown racing stripe on the wall.
