Gold

I found this piece of wood while walking the dog. Dont know what it is, seemed to light for elm. After turning, dyed it purple, applied lacquer, then rubbed on gold metallic paint. I then had to sand back a bit to just leave the gold in the grain. I then finished with satin lacquer. It measures about 4.5 X 9.

A piece with a simple shape has been transformed into a piece of beauty. Outstanding.

P.S.
You got ideas flying around in my head.
