This is a continuation of my series based on the Hubble. I have the pleasure of meeting and having lunch with Bob ODell tomorrow. Bob was a project scientist for NASA that eventually became the Hubble Space Telescope. Bob come up with the telescopes early design, sold the concept to congress and the astronomical community.
I set up a table this afternoon featuring many of my pieces along with photos of the Orion Nebulae. There is also a plaque with photos of Bob and myself with brief biographies, and a description of how our bodies of work relate. It will be a great honor to meet and converse with Bob.
This hollow form vessel is turned from fiddle back maple. It measures 8.75 inches tall and is 4.75 inches wide. It is finished with aniline dyes and spray lacquer.
