Inner Rim Vessel no. 2261
Turned from oak
Finished with tung oil
Approximately 5" x 5"

I like to turn these from really wet timber, lightly sand and burnish the surface while it's wet, and then allow them to fully dry before final polishing. It leaves a really tactile surface that add to the experience when picked up.
How deep is your inner rim defining cut Phil? Nice end result!
Hey Russ, I never measured, but I think it's about 5/8-3/4 deep? I used a narrow parting tool as a scraper to get in there. So it's a little wider than the tool. Now I have some custom angled tools to get in and make those cuts. For the size of the piece I think it works well. The rims were also carved down on to create the idea of overlapping rims. I'll post a detail picture of the rim.
