"Inspired by Jerry"

A 14" four footed platter or shallow bowl with a carved, burned and colored rim. Locust from a tree that had grown too close to our house. A few of my friends use cut stones- agate, chalcedony, jasper- to decorate the rim of similar platters so I thought I'd play with some random shapes and colors that might hint at a similar treatment. Posca paint markers for coloring. I masked off the rim to finish it with spray lacquer. The rest of the piece is finished with Danish oil. Not sure if I hit the planned target but I do like how it came out.
Thanks for looking!
I love the free form and organized chaos of your rim pattern Pat. My first impression was Veterans Day Poppies. Nice job!
