"Irtyu"

An English Walnut lidded, footed jar with a secret (a hidden compartment in the lid.) . A carved and colored piece of Ivory Palm nut provides a sturdy complement to the vessel's roof. The piece was dyed black then sanded back removing all the color except what remained tucked in the grain. The rest of the color and finish from Gilder's Paste- possibly my favorite coloring agent. A broad shouldered 8" x 5-1/2".
Thank you for looking!
