Mantaray leather 2

200mm square Pohutukawa The turning on these pieces is about 25 percent of the effort required to finish them
As Pohutakawa is so hard it takes ages to brand the work copper leaf ,airbrushed lacquer finish
I called this leather as people have commented that they feel like leather to the touch
I have just discoverd a way of bracing the wings so they no longer shatter when turned .These wings were pritty much straight off the skew
