Maple Burl and White Pine Box

3-1/2" X 8" Maple burl and White Pine box.
This box was never suppose to be done. The pine box part was just some prototype work that I did to get the compound angles correct for a stave cremation urn. But it looked sort of neat so I made a small box.
It is finished with lacquer then buffed and waxed. The lid has a silver colored button in it as an accent on the inside. the edges are blackened with a sharpie and sort of smudged. OH! Well it was fire wood.
Nic-

Neat idea to add the button on the inside of the lid. Did you think about using a piece of wood to burnish/burn the rings instead of using a Sharpie?
