Maple with Eggshell

This curly maple bowl has been gold leafed, and then had eggshell applied over the gold to create the pattern on the lower part of the bowl. I process the eggshells, and have experimented with this technique quite a bit. I'll have to tell you sometime, but this doesn't seem to be the place...

It seems to me a very intersting technique, someting similar to the crawling technique of potters. Cannot enlarge the photograph sufficiently ... I would be intersted to know more about the technique!
