MIchael, did you post these alternative views from a web source (not images from your computer's hard-drive)? I still cant seem to do this with photos that are on my computer.... The mystery deepens! BTW I love this, I think its Eggceptional!

Thank you Thomas! Yes, I posted these as links from Imgur.com. It’s an image sharing website. You upload the photo (you can do this publicly or privately), add a descriptive title, and then Imgur will generate a link. I usually right-click on the photo and select “open image in new tab”, and then copy the URL. Doing it this way will give you a link to the image itself, without the superfluous Imgur border. If that makes sense… I’m happy to elaborate as needed.

Sweet piece, Michael. Do the magnets actually touch or is the pedestal a little concave so only the wood rim touches? Hard to tell in the photos.

Tom, the magnets don't quite touch. I've learned the hard way just how powerful rare earth magnets are. Ripped out epoxy connections. Sheesh. I recessed the magnet in the egg so that it sits just below the surface, and the magnet in the pedestal is flush with its surface. The top of the pedestal is slightly concave, so the egg sits just below the top of the pedestal. The very bottom edge of the egg comes into contact with the pedestal, and there's likely about 1/2 mm or so between the two magnets. Close enough to still be very strong.
