Mixed media teapot

I needed a blank to do a teapot demo but did not have anything suitable on hand so I glued up some padauk and maple. After turning the body of the teapot I was not sure what to do for a lid so I cut open a tea bag and cast the tea in some resin to create a blank for the lid. I wasn’t sure about the contrasting colors initially but it grew on me.
