A bowl from Big Leaf Maple Burl, with a natural edge. It's about 8-3/4″ diameter and 2-1/2″ high. The walls of the bowl are almost 1/2″ thick, to show off the natural burl surface.
This is almost a "dog bowl" shape, but I like how it shows off the eyes in the bottom, and the vertical walls lift up the rays from those eyes to the edge. The straight sides also (to me) lifts up the natural edge.
