Redwood Burl Hollow Form

A friend and mentor recently gifted me this chunk of Redwood Burl from a veneer company in Ohio. This was the center of a veneer roll cutter that stopped cutting at the bark inclusion. I've never worked Redwood, especially some that was seriously dry as it sat on his shelve for many years. I also generally do not like gloss finishes but this one really wanted to be shinny. 5x10" finished with many coats of gloss lacquer.
