Hi Ethan, Thank you for the nice comment! When I moved to my current neighborhood, I met John Ellis - you might recognize his name as he was (& still is) an active member of AAW and our local chapter of woodturners. He invited me to visit his shop. I remember seeing that he had made handles for some of his turning tolls that had basket illusion designs - which I thought was very cool! Up to that point, I had only ever seen pictures of a few platters & shallow bowls with basket illusion. It's been almost 2 years now since I started learning the basket illusion technique - I am starting to feel more comfortable with the process, which has given me some confidence to try new and different things other than bowl shapes - I am having a lot of fun experimenting with the technique!
