Bradford Pear, spiral carved and textured, then scorched with a torch. About 9" dia. I'd like comments. Personally, I think it looks too much like ceramic and not wood.

I agree with Don and Jake and think this is really cool. I'm very intrigued by the texture. Can you post a detail of that, or some additional explaination? I like the fact that it looks like something that shouldn't be wood. Very Cool!
Thanks guys for your thoughts. Scott, I did the texturing with a couple of flame shaped carbide bits used on their side with a Dremel tool. This caused depressions, the edges of which scorched.
