Southwestern Vase

Southwestern Vase

I made this vase based on the design by
Ray Allen (1930-2000)

Size is 10" wide by 5.25" tall
made of 374 pieces of wood including:
hard maple, curley maple, walnut, bloodwood, and green diamond wood
Form seems to suffer in a lot of segmented work, but I think you did a great job. I really like the graceful curves and proportions in your piece. Very nice.

Larry, very nice. I agree with Ed on the form and graceful lines. Ray Allen's work was some of the first to inspire me to try turning. I don't think you would be able to tell whether He or You turned this piece, it is that good. The Curly Maple makes this piece in my mind. Without it, I don't think the result would be as awe inspiring. Good Work Larry!

Wow, Thank you both!
