Spalted White Oak bowl

Beautiful piece. Did the wood spalt naturally or did you encourage it along? I haven't come across any spalted white oak.

thanks for the compliment. I take no credit at all. The wood was harvested by a gentleman I used to work with who noticed it was getting to look kind of interesting. When he saw how beautiful it was he brought the log in to show me and he let me have a few chunks. Sadly, this was the last of it. There's another piece from the same log in my gallery that I did a while back.
