Great repair, Alan. The red rings add a lot. A minor nitpick - either the grain orientation of the insert and/or placement of the handles is off visually. Just my 2¢. ;)

Absolutely right. Only reason I did handles was that a piece fell out where one of the handles was—made them as a salvage to avoid the fireplace. In the future I’ll take that into consideration—good point.
