This is a photo of my original fruit bowl. The bowl is made of camphor and the fruits are made of pine, apple, cherry, and oak wood. The ultimate idea is to make each piece of fruit from its own kind of wood.

This piece of Black Walnut had some bad scar tissue (for want of a better description) so I tried ebonizing it with vinegar and steel wool. The scar marks disappeared and the mix gave the Black Walnut an incredible intensity without hiding the grain.
