This Platter measures 550 dia ,A unique piece of Ancient Swamp Kauri .The high gum content meant I had to oil sand as it blocked up the paper .!0 Coats of lacquer. I still wish I hadn't sold this piece as it was such a special bit of wood

This is an an ash platter which is about 12 inches square. It sits on a one inch high by 3 inch diameter inverse tapered foot (not visible in this view).

This is a 16" maple platter, burned, colored and a bit of texturing thrown in the mix. Black Gesso is used to enhance the inner rim.

This is a maple platter about 16" diamter. I did some carvng, burning and added some texture on the backside as well.

Maple Platter Roughed out. 3 inches thick and 18 inches in diameter. Nice crotch coloring with a colorful bark inclusion running through the near side of the platter.

16"dia. Spalted Maple Platter oiled and buffed. I was going to brand the rim but it looked too much like a landscape I left it alone.

This maple platter is 16" diameter textured with an air powered needle scaler and decorated with black gesso and burned designs inlayed with brass BB's.
