For those that have this set up, does this sound right. It will only go onto the outboard spindle about 7/8", because of the "O" ring, inside the adapter, and, then tighten the 2 set screws?

Thanks,
W.C.

Handwheel Removal

Jerhall asked me to post my method.

I removed the handwheel setscrews. I traced the outline of a washer, that would fit inside the handwheel, & against the spindle, onto plywood. This creates a spot for the gear puller point to ride on. I used a 3 arm gearpuller to make short work of removing the handwheel. Without a gearpuller, I would imagine, it could take hours to get the wheel off.

Worked for me.
