I introduced this British archery longbow builder in the recent cane building thread from @Sam Fleisher . https://www.aawforum.org/community/threads/anyone-else-make-canes.22823/#post-245330
Here, Mick Grewcock heads into the wood and shows how he built, and learns to use, a small spring pole lathe to make blunt wood tips for arrows. Don't giggle too much, he is quite humble to the experience and makes plenty of admissions, but he's trying to replicate how things were done the better part of a millennia ago.

If historic British archery gear is of any interest to you, or if you just enjoy watching really well produced how-to craft videos in general, his youtube channel is all about guiding you to build wood longbows and arrows under very modest conditions, along with a few other topics. I've no interest myself, but his videos are absolutely captivating, some I've watched twice. Even thrice.
