Hello everyone, I'm sure I know many of you but if not, I hope to soon. I recently made this vessel for the Beauty & the beast contest. I was fortunate enough to have come in 7th place against many extremely talented turners. It was an honor to have been selected to be in such fine company. Anyway, it's made of Tiger eucalyptus, eucalyptus burl, bubinga, Gabon ebony & inlace. Please enjoy & critics are welcome.

I've long admired your work. You have a good eye for form, your joints seem crisp and clean, and the mix of colors you use add to, rather than subtract from, the piece. Very well done.
 
Thanks David. It's important in segmenting to not go too overboard.
I've started another vessel but the bearings are going out on my lathes motor. I was going to buy the VB36 listed for sale here but someone beat me to it by 1/2 an hour.:( I'd really like to follow in the footsteps of Ray Allen and try something larger in diameter but my Jet 1442 has limitations in that respect.

I noticed you are in Mesa, if you ever come to Tucson, look me up. I own Audio 2000 on Speedway. Drop in any time.
