To all,

As you know the AAW symposium has many members working to make it a success. This year’s symposium is June 29-July 1 in Portland Oregon.

Please consider volunteering for a few hours. We need both Room Assistants and Youth Assistants.

Room Assistant Duties: provide assistance to the Demonstrator or Videographer as requested and cleanup after the session. New this year, we’ll have a cadre of top notch videographers to operate the cameras so this will not be a Room Assistant duty.
You do have to sit up front.

Youth assistant: The Symposium will include a youth class room for 25 students. We will have 8 class sessions two of 3 hour length and 6 that are 90 to 110 minutes long.
The instructors would like to have 10 to 12 assistant in each session. The duties correspond to the assistants experience and confidence. It can be as simple as calling the instructor to help a student that needs a little extra help to actually guiding the student directly. Seeing a kid’s eyes light up with wonder and accomplishment is quite a reward.

If you would like to help, please go to http://hockenbery.net/volform.htm
And complete a web form that will be e-mailed automatically when you hit submit to Paul Rasmussen who is this years volunteer Volunteer Coordinator. Please hit submit only once as each time sends an e-mail.

You may view the draft of the biggest most extensive woodturning demonstration schedule the world has ever seen at :

Hope to see you in Portland,

Acknowledgment?

Are we supposed to receive an acknowledgment that our volunteer information has been received?

It would be good to know if the system actually has recorded our data, and that someone is aware of our willingness to assist at the AAW Symposium....

....still waiting to hear whether what I typed before clicking "submit" has been received!
