AAW Winter 2009 Contest-Results!!!!

A new contest is upon us! And given that we are approaching the holiday season, it seems only fitting that the contest is for a Christmas ornament.

Here are the rules:

Must not exceed 8" overall height.

Must have an icicle. A finial is optional.

Must be at least one of the following: hollowed, pierced, carved or pyrographed.

To enter the contest, upload a photo of your ornament with the title 'AAW Winter 2009 Contest'.

Deadline is midnight, GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) November 15th.

Note: Since we publish the winner (with photo), it is important that you take the largest, best quality photo you can. While the limit for the AAW Forums is now 2MB, be aware that the Journal prefers photos to be 1MB to 3MB. You can reduce the size for submittal to the Forum, and still have one large enough for the Journal.

The contest will be judged by a well known turner to be announced at a later date. Good Luck to all!

Contest Judge

John Lucas has agreed to take care of the judging of the Christmas ornaments. In addition to turning many ornaments himself, John is a full-time photographer for Tennessee Tech University. He has been a turner for 20 years or better, and is a well known demonstrator both locally and nationally, and is a regular on the AAW Forums as well as Woodcentral and WOW. We are very pleased to have him as our judge. Thanks, John!

Well, the contest has ended, and the entries have been sent to John Lucas for judging. The results will be posted as soon as they are received! Good luck to everyone who entered!
