Abrasive Paste

I could not see the reasoning for it - considering how little paste may be used at a time, I'd imagine the oil would cure relatively quickly in the jar, so not much sense in making a big batch . I suppose one could make a very small one-time-use batch but for the effort involved to get the results needed, I think it would be a huge waste of time.
 
I made a batch from a Mike Peace video. works very well and after a year and a half in the container, the oil did not go bad, or cure inside the container. I used mineral oil, beeswax, and diatomaceous earth. It works just as well as the commercial stuff. I believe Kim Tippen has a couple different videos on making it also.

I have seen mention of a technique using walnut oil, wax, and 4F pumice (or without the wax I would think). You load up a cloth with the three ingredients for single use.
