Hi folks! I am seeking photos to accompany an upcoming journal article on wood figure. The article will discuss the various types of prized figure, such as burl, birdseye, flame, quilted, crotch, etc. An associated photo gallery will feature turned works displaying interesting, unusual wood figure of any kind. We are seeking photo submissions that could be used either for the article itself (showing representative examples of figure) or for the photo gallery. If your photos are selected, they could be used for either purpose.

Deadline: Please send high res images to editor@woodturner.org by the end of June 2022. Send 2-3 images of your best turned work showing interesting wood figure. Please include a separate document with caption info for each piece: your name, work title (if there is one), year made, all materials used (type of wood/figure and the finish used), and dimensions (height x diameter).

There is no financial compensation, but you’ll receive a contributor copy of the journal. Hope to hear from you!

Happy Turning!
