I’d like to get another mandrel for this inertial sander, but it takes an 8mm shank, not 1/4”

Anyone know who made this? It’s pretty well built. Two bearings, stainless steel.

Measure the diameter of the shaft on the mandrel. The one you have that is missing the velcro is nothing special as long as its a common size shaft. You can find them many places online.

The pad I have i have is a standard roloc pad, but the shaft is not standard. I’d like a second shaft so I can quickly change between 2” and 3”. To do that now I have to unscrew the pad and screw a new one on. The shaft is quick disconnect from the handle. No tools needed.

Could you not make your own pad with an 8mm shaft? I’ve seen several folks make these online.

I may try turning down a larger one. Don’t have a metal lathe, but JKJ posted info about turning metal on a wood lathe

Hmm that abit strange as this sort of quick change et up commonly comes with several. But as pointed, you can make your the grooves are nothing fancy and how they lock in is normally just a couple of O-rings.
