I just finished my first basket illusion. It is a vase around 8” tall. It is walnut and I had to use white ink. Will use lighter wood in the future but this was just sitting on the shelf waiting to be hollowed. I grabbed it, added the beads, burned the lines, painted and then hollowed it. I still need to add a finish but I want to let the ink dry for a few days first.IMG_0671.jpeg

congratulations on making your first Basket Illusion! Personally, I have found the challenge & the technique in making them to be surprisingly addictive .... good luck!
