I would love to find two or three Jet 1014 bed extensions if anyone has an unused one lying around. I’m teaching some spindle classes this summer and would like to extend capacity on all the mini lathes in my shop.
Don’t know if it would work for you, but some have designed and made bed extensions from wood. If not made super strong, a leg in the back could provide support.
Some used wood with steel strips on the top but may not be needed for light use. A can’t remember if the jet minis are drilled and tapped for bolts but if not, I’ve found cast iron quite easy to drill and tap.
