Bending shapes

pretty cool but his “how I make these” YouTube doesn’t really explain it. He must steam them and use bands as noted above by Kevin. Very talented.
 
My opinion is, look up Peter Hromek. Put blank between centers and shape exterior, put a tenon on 1 end to clamp in chuck. Hollow. Think about design on chuck end . Approx 1/4 " thick walls . Remove and cut out side.
I saw him in 2009 aaw in N. M. I altered designs to make opening seed pods .

Thanks for the info everyone! I have seen all of the above videos in my research, just thought maybe he was using something different. I was referring to the sculptured seashells of. course. But very interested in all his work.
