Any thoughts on skin protection besides long sleeved shirts as Black Mangrove dust seems to irritate sweat areas like elbow and neck wrinkles and seems even worse in sunlight?

Clothing may not protect, rather may aid or provoke contact dermatitis http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000869.htm by holding the irritant in close to the skin. The best answer is the punchline to the old burlesque joke, if it hurts when you do it - don't do it.

There's a raft of chemicals in durable woods that would certainly provoke banishment if they were not "natural" occurances. No guarantee that other woods, especially the heartwood of other woods, won't do the same.

You might try one of the creams made for when you know your are going to work around poison ivy. The cream seals the pores in your skin and good for up to about 8 hours. After your exposure you should wash with a good cleaner. I have used them around poison ivy and they worked well for me.
