Salve!

Has anyone ever made Bocce balls? I'm thinking it'd be a great project/exercise. I've searched the net for contruction tips and materials, and regulation size/weight but, am coming up empty handed.

I'm guessing that it'd be best made out of dried/layered/laminated hardwood, but, am not sure if "regulation" balls need to be out of a specific species.
