I am looking for a book that I was had, but loaned to someone, and has never returned. It is neither the Stuart Mortimer, or Bill Bowers book. If I remember correctly, it had a blue cover with a lidded bowl. The lid had an open spiral finial with multiple bines. I have searched the inter net for both woodworking, and woodturning books with no success.
Thanks for any help
Dan

Mike and Rick, no it is not either of those two books. Thanks for trying, hopefully somebody will know the answer. I have the Mortimer, and have seen the Bowers, but it is a different book that I am looking for. If you want to see a picture of a similar open spiral finial check out https://sawmillcreek.org/content.php?143-How-I-Make-Spiral-or-Twisted-Finials
The finial that is on the cover of the book that I am looking for appears to be ebony, and has more bines

Dan, that is a cool reference/how to. I've done but one barley twist, and have a keen interest in others, but the method I originally used required a bore the length of the piece, this method seems to not need one. That minor difference opens up a world of possibilities.
