Hello AAW! I was born and raised in Kentucky but, about 30 years ago, my job moved me to south central Pennsylvania where I still live and work. My dad gave me a lathe many years ago but I've only recently been able to setup a shop. Last fall I made the journey back to Kentucky to retrieve my (Laguna branded Stomana) lathe. Somehow I got all 1200 lbs moved 500 miles and setup without hurting myself. :-) I'm looking forward to joining and interacting with one of the local AAW chapters (I believe Susquehanna Woodturners in Harrisburg is the closest.) I've turned only about 10-11 bowls over the years (when visiting my parents) so I'm still definitely a novice. There is a bowl turning class coming up at our local WoodCraft store that I plan to sign up for and, of course, I want to interact in this forum and learn from the online and local community.

Welcome to the forum and AAW. Joining a local chapter is worth the time and dues. I have never regretted either one.
You are in a beautiful area of PA. Spent some time in Lancaster and Gettysburg a while back. Miss the Amish cooking.
