Bowls for Food (Not a thread about finishes...)

I think that they might have been referring to the Empty Bowls Project. Our local food bank has an empty bowls event every year, but the pandemic has basically reduced it to just a drive-by event. My turning club had been participating since about 2007, but the potters were involved in it for several years before that. There used to be a national empty bowls website, but it seems to have disappeared and all that I could find now is a blog that doesn't seem to be related to the original Empty Bowls website.

Michael, I saw that on the news last night. Tried to check out his website but it seems to have crashed since the story was aired . Looks like it’s back up this morning. What a great idea and a generous way to give back to the community.

Our club has been donating to the Empty Bowls thing through a local food bank for years. They used to be all potter's bowls, but we asked if they wanted wood bowls and they loved the idea. The event was cancelled the last 2 years due to the flu bug. They also had another benefit auction where they wanted more 'artistic' pieces to sell. I have also given rolling pins, and pretty much anything intended for the kitchen is welcome.
