I just finished this crossgrain box and I don't know how I feel about it. It's 7.5 inches by 3.5 inches. Walnut. I like it and (really) dislike it at the same time.

The shape/size of the lid feels off to me. The details and finish look great. I think a shorter lid with more rounded shoulder maybe? A gentle curve.
 
Ok, it's not just me then. I feel like it looks like it belongs on or in the stove rather than around the house. And I think Russell nailed it with reshaping (or remaking) the lid, I think I can leave the base the way it is. Really appreciate the inputs, guys.
