Hello fellow turners. I started around 2018, taking classes from my local club until I worked up the courage to get my own lathe. I've focused on smaller items: pens, keychains, Christmas ornaments, and lately conducting batons.

This is also my first term as our club president (Siouxland Woodturners). Our main community projects are wig stands we donate to one of the local hospitals and our 'military pens' (slimlines with 308 casings) that we donate to the VA and DAV as gifts to the veterans.

Welcome aboard. Sounds like you jumped in with both feet. Club leadership is something that requires dedication and consistency . Don't let the lack of volunteers get you down just ask someone to do the job, you will be amazed how many will do it.
