Hello all. My name is Branden. I'm a fairly new turner and am glad to be here with all if you. I started put in the workshop with my grandfather making simple carvings. I have always been fascinated by wood turning but had never tried doing it myself until September of 2017 when I bought a second hand lathe from Craigslist. Later in September I realized that lathe was only good for spindle turning and I wanted to make bowls. In November I bought a Delta 46-460 new and went nuts turning as often as possible. I've turned many things but has found a niche that I love more than any of the rest, making wood rings.

I am starting build up my Etsy shop as well as growing my youtube channel that shows me turning, mostly rings. I do show other projects too from time to time.

I love to share my knowledge and to teach others how to do the things I do. I'll be doing my first live club demo in May and am very excited to get started doing demos on ring making.

If you are interested in seeing me do what I do you can find me on YouTube at www.youtube.com/handmadebybranden

I look forward to learning and sharing my knowledge with the group.

Branden,

Those are some really nice looking rings, I may need to dig my ring mandrels out of storage and turn some more. Bangles are also another item you could market to the same client base which involves the same crafting skills and equipment. You can always turn a few bangle mandrels on the lathe to hold your bangles when turning and finishing.

Thank you. I've made a couple bangles as well. You're right though, I should make more.

Welcome Branden! I was actually thinking of trying rings over the weekend. Another line of business potentially worth considering is gauge earrings. Not really my cup of tea, but I met someone at a wedding the other weekend that really liked his.
