I was told by a turner in MO that he recalled seeing info on this site on constructing a breakdown stand for cutting smaller logs - something that keeps the logs from squirreling around when cutting the ends and then slicing lengthwise in half. His was made with PVC sections, 2x4's and something else I can't recall (metal pipe?). Any advice or instructions would be most appreciated. It would also save my back a little!

wow Richard, this is it! Thanks so much for your quick reply and info. I'm off to the hardware store.
