Does anybody have any experience with chatter tools for surface decoration? Interested in how to use them and what the results look like.

Thanks...

Pick up a one of the metal cutting blades that they use to assemble the metal 2x4 buildings. There are usually tons of them lying around most construction sites. I cut them to length, usually around 2" or a little more depending on how you want to hold them.
I prefer the commercial cutters but you can buy the blades seperate and make your own handle and holder if you have the skills.
Here is a PDF of a simple chatter tool.

Thanks much, Mark and John. This is exactly what I was looking for. Fact is: I enjoy making my own tools - not as much as turning, mind you, but close - so making a chatter tool shouldn't be hard.

John, kudos to your club on the "Tips" section of the website - super info and not just of "high-dollar" chatter tool...

All the best...
