I made a simple cherry box for one of our doctors. I find people don’t normally look under the lid right away so I like to leave surprises there. The box is 2.75 tall, 4” in diameter and the finial is 2” tall.
Rusty .... love the design on the underside of the lid - nice touch! Before I got into turning I made and sold a lot of bandsawn boxes and applied "flocking" on the drawer interiors. I found that brown and black (especially brown) are much more suitable/complementary colors with almost all types of wood. I had a few other colors but I rarely (if ever) used them. Just my 2¢!
Jill, owner of DonJer Products, had her office/warehouse about a mile from my home - but that was back in the '80's & '90's.
