Having done hundreds of oil lamps, the round bottom, while looking nice, allows the potential for oil spillage and fires.
I quit doing lamps and threw out the wicks and went with reeds for fragrance when a gallery told me it was too much liability to sell lamps.
i like them, and family members cherish the lamps I have made, they just are too problematic anymore.

maybe not the reason you posted though.
