Just wanted to congratulate Al on his forthcoming induction as an AAW Honorary Life Member.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Al and his lovely wife Sherry when I was living in Florida. We did harvest some wood didn't we. :)

If you ever get the chance to visit Al and Sherry at their home and shop; don't pass up the opportunity as they are truly gracious hosts.

Both Al and Sherry are part of what makes AAW what it is and it would not be nearly as successful without them. I am sure Al feels that the award is for both of them.

To Al and Sherry, a sincere thank you for all the help you have given me.

Check with Rudy as he has something for you that I sent back with him when he recently visited Michigan for a demo.

Same here. Got my magazine yesterday. Al has done an awful lot to promote woodturning and deserves all the credit.

Congrats Al, I saw this in magazine and just had to read. Many things you have contributed to the wood turning family and you should stand proud of all you have done. We all Thank You for your generous help of fellow wood turners.:D

Congratulations, Al. So often 'unsung heroes' remain unsung-- it's nice to have a good guy recognized for his contributions. I've come to greatly appreciate your well reasoned and experience based answers on the forum and thank you for the help you've given me and our high school student turners.

Congratulations from the Chesapeake Woodturners

Congratulations Al from the Chesapeake Woodturners for whom you had such a large impact. We wish you well and we appreciate all that you have done for us and for the AAW.

Thank you all. The AAW and it's members have had a major influence on my life and my turning. Receiving recognition is terrific.

Last night was the dinner and awards ceremony. We sat at a table with the Amigos and Lospinusos our dear friends of twenty years, Jennifer Shirley , Clay Foster who received the MERIT Award for his contributions to the field of woodturning, and Ron Browning, president of the Florida symposium and a candidate for the AAW board.

Frank presented me with a beautiful inscribe platter made by my friend Joe Ruminski.
Clay received the Merit award,
Sandi Speier, Binh Pho, and Dale Larson were recognized for six years of service to the AAW Board. We are gonna miss them as leaders and keep them as friends!
Betty Scarpino was recognized for her contributions as editor and as an AAW member and she passed the baton to Josh Friend.
And the hundreds of AAW Members and dozens of companies that make the symposium possible we recognized.
Along with chapter awards and instant gallery awards.

It has been a terrific symposium. One day left.

Al

Unofficially speaking for all Florida Woodturners, I say congratulations Al. We were truly fortunate to have you come to this state for your retirement and many of us have benefited from the various levels of instruction you have provided.

It was wonderful visiting with you and Sherry at the symposium and being at the awards ceremony when you received AAW's Honorary Lifetime Achievement award, congratulations! The award is well deserved for all you have contributed, not only to the AAW, but to woodturning in general.
