I used corian scraps glued together to make the blanks. If you go to the Saw Mill Creek website and look in the Freedom Pen forum they lave a message from an art supply house that will send you an entire 25lb box of the stuff for $8.50 (shipping charge only) but, for the expressed purpose of making pens for the Freedom Pen project.
Nice stuff, good work. Now if you can upgrade from solid surface and turn some granite pens. Got a granite shop next to my cabinet shop, I can get you all you need! :cool2:
Lol, you probably would. From what I've seen the guys at the granite shop do to cut massive countertops, I'd guess even a metal lathe & tooling wouldn't touch granite.
