New to turning, I had just started my first turning class @ El Camino College when Covid shut things down but the turning bug sure hit me. Since then, I have acquired a lathe, grinder, tools and a jig. It's not all here yet but I can't wait! I'll post pictures when it's all set-up.

Looking forward to soaking up a bunch of knowledge here on this forum!

Welcome to the forum, if you are already a member of the AAW there is a lot of very useful information and training on that site available. If you haven't already I would contact a local club and see about joining. I know our club has a mentorung program that provides help for new turners.

Welcome aboard. Other options in current conditions are Interactive Remote Demos. In the next couple weeks the AAW hopes to have a calendar up on the website so you can find one to watch at home and have the capability to ask questions. Most clubs are now meeting this way. Looking forward to seeing your progress

Welcome to the forum! And welcome to the never ending vortex of woodturning. Remember, you are just one tool away from greatness, LOl. Enjoy the journey.

Thank you Emilano! I love Maui! Our daughter moved back to the States from Maui not long ago. We visited 2x a year while she was there. She worked at the Plantation and her BF worked at Maui Brewing Co. Next time we are there I'll need to stop by. BTW, I went back and forth on Thompson or Carter and Sons, just ordered C&S.

Very sad news, the Plantation announced it is closing. I'm a Thompson man! Make sure you stop by my shop next time you come to Maui. I'm in Makawao. Aloha!
