Hi. I'm new to the forum. I'm a carpenter turned woodworker. I got my first lathe to make a commissioned newel post finial about 8 years ago. Since then I've made 2 newel posts, matched a bunch of stair spindles and made lots of small gifts for people. I just bought a Brodhead-Garrett J-line J170 and can't wait to plug it in (after I run electrical for it). Hurray for wood turning.

Welcome to the forums, Dave. Beautiful carving! Good luck running the electrical (did that not too long ago myself for my garage workshop). Have fun when you get it all going!

Thanks much! I'm looking forward to learning more about turning and trying to up my game. It'll be fun to see what others are doing on the forum and pick up some tips and inspiration.
