Hi. I'm new to the forum. I'm a carpenter turned woodworker. I got my first lathe to make a commissioned newel post finial about 8 years ago. Since then I've made 2 newel posts, matched a bunch of stair spindles and made lots of small gifts for people. I just bought a Brodhead-Garrett J-line J170 and can't wait to plug it in (after I run electrical for it). Hurray for wood turning.

Welcome aboard. Those are some very fabulous carvings you are doing. I can see that in bowls and hollow forms so much you can do with those skills.
