Hello from NC. I’m apart of part time hobby woodworker and turner. I’m interested in learning new and challenging techniques and this looks like a great place to do just that. Thank you Gerald, yes you are correct, cedar is a favorite of mine and it can be tricky for me sometimes. I think I have almost as many failures as successes with this wood.

Welcome, David! Some very nice pieces in your photo! I, also, love Eastern Red Cedar and have often turned it. Seems like lately I'm turning mostly our Western Big Leaf Maple or Black
Cherry, which are in abundance here in the Pacific Northwest.
